"We don't try to get someone off on a technicality, and we don't try to get sentences reduced. We provide the money and resources so that our clients have the opportunity to prove their case. Our task is not easy, and it is always costly. Just to investigate a case of modest dimensions and file a Write of Habeas Corpus can easily cost over $50,000."
The Freedom Foundation was established 1979 as a 501C3 for the single purpose of providing resources for innocent prisoners who are incarcerated. The mission of the Freedom Foundation, with your donations, is to locate those prisoners with credible claims of innocence and to provide funding for legal expenses to exonerate them.
Since 1989. over 18,250 years have been served in prison by INNOCENT INMATES. The Innocence Project reports that 2-5% of people serving trime behind bars are innocent. With about 2 million people incarcerated in the U.S., a 2% innocence rate would be equivalent to 40,000 wasting their lives in jail or prison.
